the main street in the city called marques de campo is a pleasant place for a walk or a wander around the shops. here you can find shops with traditional foods: rice, cheeses, spanish ham and wine. apart from the well-known supermarket chains you can also find international food shops in Denia including german or Russian ones. there is a shopping mall in the city called “portal de la marina” where you can find all the big brands.

there is a cinema in Denia which is located in the portal de la marina shopping centre and a small theatre, “teatro auditorio del centro social”, where spectacles and shows take place regularly. over the course of the year music festivals and big gastronomic events take place in the city.

Denia was founded in ancient Roman times, traces of which can still be seen in the city today. the main attraction, without question, is the 11th century castle located in the centre. it has an excellent view of the sea, the city and its surroundings.
